Contemporary, Modern, Minimalistic
Something different, yet similar

It's been far too long and while I grapple with the huge project that is the Mcqueen project for my final term as a 2nd year, the lack of outfits, blog posts and anything to do with social media is starting to get to me. I'm not going to lie, it has been a struggle.

While I struggle to produce a complete look, I thought sharing this would be a good step back in social media and blogging; both of which I am trying to get back into once all the crazy datelines and amount of work clears. Also, I really did put a lot of effort into this project and the world needs to see it, at least part of it.

For some reason, twilight seemed to be an appropriate reference during the editing process. I can't help but remember when the first movie came out. I know, it's not the best and probably is one of the worse references but they did have a good soundtrack and I'm a huge sucker for movie soundtracks. Currently, I've been really digging a couple of songs from a few different movies like "If I Stay", "Begin Again" and undoubtedly, "The Faults in our Stars".  Maybe one day I shall venture into making a monthly playlist just to get into the spirit of things.

Halloween doesn't start or end with October

With October coming to an end, it was about time I did something festive. I got a chance to team up with Missguided recently and decided to try something more kitsch-street than usual since in the spirit of Halloween, and life, sticking to your same ol' same ol' can be a little tiring, no? Plus, it finally gives me the chance to wear that zombie skirt I've been saving for over a year now.

It doesn't stop at the red hair.

Found this pair deep within all the clothes I've left behind from last year. Unlike any other pair, this one has a rather long history since I've owned this pair for about 8 odd years now? Maybe even more... It was way back during one of those phases you go through as a kid and yes, one of the many phases I went through was punk. I mean, it was what got me started with fashion to begin with and the whole idea of rebelling and not being another "one in the bunch" was something I couldn't say no to.

You could say that because of the years I've grown with it, it's one of the harder things to part with since punk fashion is one of my roots and when you're feeling lost or uninspired, you go back to them right...

With 'Empty' playing throughout the office,
I take myself back to my younger days and wonder
what happened and where the time had gone.

It's definitely been awhile... A lot of 'grown up' things have been happening recently, like moving into a new flat, more bills, tax exemptions, general school stuff and not just cleaning but handling faults in my new flat now that I'm back in London. It's times like this where I miss not having to handle so many things in life.

Unfortunately life hasn't been kind and the lack of wifi and good phone signal only allows very limited things for me to do. Of course, with the occasional trips to Costa has allowed for me to get things moving along, though slowly. So please be patient for a while more.

School hasn't been so kind either since it feels and seems like they've blocked me from ever receiving any proper information and even using their school wifi. This may seem like my paranoia but I do have some thought that it could be due to many factors which I shall not mention.

On a lighter note, if you follow me on instagram, you'll probably have seen a small section of my new room; one that I'm rather proud of honestly. It definitely took a whole lot of planning to get it done but moving into a new place is a whole lot of work that some times I regret not coming back early.

Nonetheless, progress is progress is it not?

In a flash, those early days of excitement and impressions are gone.
I emerge stronger, tougher, wiser.
More refine like the diamond that I am.

It's been a good week or 2 and all I can say is how quickly time flies. Soon, I'll be back in London again full of anticipation yet I'm gonna miss well, all the good things. Do I start a countdown or do I wait and pray each day goes by slowly. Conflicted.

Yet I'm back and ready more than ever as there's only so much you can do and expect that there's no point insisting on what can never be.

By the way, I'm so in love with these platform shoes that nobody else can convince me otherwise.

It's been a rough couple of weeks but I'm learning to take things step by step.

As things have turned out and well, unpleasant things in life strike, the past few weeks have definitely been a struggle and so I came to a decision that deactivating twitter and especially facebook was the best. Though this blog was suppose to be a part of it, somebody really special has convinced me that giving up and abandoning my blog would be silly since a lot of effort has been put into it over the past year.

Of course, things aren't always  going to be the same, or maybe they will, but I do hope that you will keep watching over me as I grow and develop into a better person both personally and artistically.

It's been about almost of a month since I've been back in Singapore and it feels so foreign to me. Many things have changed but it definitely feels good to be back home. This was probably taken the first week back so you can imagine the amount of back log I have collected just within this month!!

I've also managed to add a few more necklaces to my jewelry collection. Mainly bone necklaces like this one which I've been treating with slightly more care than the others since they're real. It's one of my few weaknesses honestly.

On a side note, I've been plaiting my hair a lot more frequently since I came back. My love for the black and red crossing each other, showing just hints of red thanks to my growing hair. The warmth here too was partly an excuse too but what was the harm mixing it up a little right?

Unwrapping

A little surprise underneath that dark exterior. As you peel of the edges and tear out the skin. What lies beneath could be a blank sheet waiting for you to start again.

Collage week has sort of lead up to this honestly. Attempted denim which was surprisingly easier than I thought. There definitely was a little fine tuning needed here and there but I guess with what I had and how good I am so far, its definitely something to be proud of. Yet, looking back and seeing everyone's work, I can't help but wonder if simplicity was the way to go. Was it worth it? Why didn't I try to do more or if I did and didn't produce a good enough quality, would I be proud then? So many things have echoed yet all I can say is, well, that's an added denim coat to my closet.

Anyway, being back in Singapore has been a rather slow and enjoyable few days so far. The time here strangely goes by rather slowly which feels weird and something I should be happy about yet I can't help but feel sluggish about the speed of it at times.

All in the name of fun.

How long has it been? So, the final semester has flown by and submissions are over, yet the amount of stress coming from the reality of it all is still building up with housing and being homeless and all. I guess you can never avoid the inevitable. Though as the time draws closer, I'll soon be back in warm, humid, sunny Singapore and I wonder how much I'm going to miss London's fickle but slightly better weather.

There are other things in life I would rather much be worrying about right now. But to a certain point, I'm glad I've got to put aside a moment just to put up another post as it's been something I miss doing during submission month. The hectic schedules have definitely given me a run for and it's moments like this when I'm editting photos and coming up with more other ideas for my blog that it feels like there are other things in life besides school.

On a side note, I'll be starting Collage week tomorrow, Thursday; a weird day to start something. A small project I came across from one of my friends. Where basically, I'll be uploading a collage everyday of the week for a week here and on instagram and pen down the ideas and thoughts about it. So do keep a watch for that.
